Iran is planning to set up a nano-science and nano-technology centre at the University of Nairobi
The Centre is to concentrate on the research of all aspects of computational nano-science, and to help promote the fields of nano-science and nano-technology across the country and beyond.
This was revealed by the Ambassador of the Islamic republic of Iran H.E Dr Hadi Farajvand who paid a courtesy call to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Nairobi Prof. Peter Mbithi.
The Ambassador was accompanied by the Iran Cultural Counsellor Mr. Mahmoud Majlesain and the Political and economic attaché of the embassy Mr Emamian.
The Vice Chancellor of the University welcome the idea and assured the ambassador of its readiness to provide space for the nano science hub.
The center intends to be the hub of Nanotechnology for Master Students from not only the University of Nairobi but also from other Universities in Africa.
Lecturers and technocrats will be sought from Iranian Universities and from Iranian nano science research centres.
