April 19th, 2018, witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Cultural Council of the Embassy of Iran, Nairobi and Pwani University, Mombasa.

The MOU was signed by the Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mr. Mahmoud Majlesain and the Vice Chancellor of Pwani University Prof. Mohamed Said Rajab. It has been extended to a further 5 years.

The aim of the MoU is to encourage further co-operation in areas felt to promote academic and cultural exchange in education, research and other areas.

The MoU Shall facilitate the exchange of  Staff and students, Joint research, and several joint projects including seminars and conferences. The MOU is also meant to strengthen the already existing Iran Corner at the University.

The Cultural Council of the Embassy of Iran to facilitate scholarship opportunities for Bachelor, Masters and PhD in Iranian Universities.
